Can you see the light??? Can you??? It's almost here. 4 more games! 4 more games! We're currently 13-1 which is a pretty nice place to be. So I'm looking forward, to a time when I might actually have more time and wondering, what should I read?? I'm still reading the series that Julie gave me for Christmas, and I'm confident that I'll have that finished pretty quickly. What are you reading? What do you suggest?
Even if you've already told me, tell me again - I'm going to B&N Friday, I think....suggestions!

I HIGHLY recommend "Running With Scissors"! I read it in 2 days! Great book, have yet to see the movie.
I wondered if that was good - I'll have to put it on my list...
Oooh! I love these posts. OUr book club just read "Abundance," a historic fiction book about Marie Antoinette and I loved it. For light beach reading, check out Laurie Notaro - she'll make you laugh. Also, if you haven't already read Bel Canto and The Kite Runner do so immediately.
Loved the Kite Runner - not sure how it will do as a movie, but we'll see. I actually did that as a book on CD.
I will add the others to my list...thanks Eileen!
I just read "Long Dong Silver" on a visual dvd...just kidding...I just finished "The Honeymoon" which is about a female serial killer, it was a fast read, which was good and now I am reading "The Giver", the first six pages kept my interest over breakfast, we shall see...
Oh, another one came to mind that will CRACK YOU UP. Me Talk Pretty One Day is a collection of essays by David Sedaris (Amy Sedaris is he crack-up of a sister who was in Strangers with Candy).
Ok, I’ve been wanting some book relief. With everything in my reading world, “all photo-all the time,” I could use a beach read. By the way, you CANNOT read at the beach when you have an almost 4 year old. There are fortresses to be constructed, treasures to be found, water to be collected. But I digress.
My interest was peeked by Eileen’s suggestion of Laurie Notaro. “She’ll make you laugh.” HELLO. This is perfect, because I LOVE TO LAUGH. God gifted me with a beautiful chackle-like laughter that must be used! So, I’m in.
One Amazon.com search revealed some really great titles: There’s a (Slight) Chance I Might Be Going to Hell: A Novel of Sewer Pipes, Pageant Queens, and Big Trouble; I Love Everyone (and Other Atrocious Lies): True Tales of a Loudmouth Girl; We Thought You Would Be Prettier: True Tales of the Dorkiest Girl Alive; and the best yet- The Thong Also Rises: Further Misadventures from Funny Women on the Road (Travelers’ Tales Guides).
Are you serious? With titles like these, it would be irresponsible not to check out Laurie Notaro. J Thanks Eileen!
You want to laugh? Then, try anything by Carl Hiaasen. That man is a delightfully twisted writer with a great eye for quirky details. The perfect poolside reading.
I know this is a day late, but maybe you all will check back. Anyone read Khaled Hosseini's second book A Thousand Splendid Suns? Just started it and I'm hooked. I wouldn't exactly call it a beach read. Definately not funny (sorry Julie - I still love your laugh though).Such a different society in Afganistan.
