Humpty Dumpty sat on a wall...

Humpty Dumpty had a great fall...
And all the great surgeons
and all the great nurses
had to put humpty dumpty back together again...

So my dad was cleaning the gutters and fell off the ladder. He probably free fell about 9 feet straight onto the asphalt driveway. He broke his femur. Way up high by where it connects into his pelvis. Two hours of surgery later and he's the bionic man. Well, not bionic...but titanium. I wonder if he'll have to carry one of those cards to get through the airport?

It's going to be a long recovery for the man. That is not a good bone to break, what with it being large and weight-bearing and all.

We're very fortunate that that's all that happened. A man went hunting the other day in Valpo and never came home. They found him at the bottom of a tree. He fell out of his stand and broke his neck. I'm so grateful he was able to somehow, army crawling, get himself into the house to call 911.

I had other things to blog about, I know I did...but for the life of me I can't remember what they were. It'll come to me.

In the meantime, think good thoughts for my pops. He's in the hospital now until at least Thursday.

OMG! I heard nothing! That must have been a very painful crawl seeing as how he had to go through the garage, around the corner and pull himself up the four little stairs that lead to the kitchen. Then, isn't your kitchen phone kind of up high on the wall? No wonder you call him bionic! Hope all goes well with recovery. BTW, I'm cooking my turkey for Friday on Thursday so have your mom call if they want some Thursday night. I have to take it off the bones, so it will be ready for eating.
Finally, Marie Osmond must NOT win Dancing With the Stars!

OMG Joy I am so with you on Marie...Helio must win or Mel B, but NOT Marie...do you vote?? I vote...Did you like the dance with Sabrina? I thought she made a mistake on wearing flats, but then I saw the flips and stuff and thought, good choice.

Dr. Kay is his ortho, Pea...we felt really good about him being on call because he did my dad's surgery 10 years ago when he broke his foot, and then he did my dad's rotator cuff surgery a few years back as well. So that was another blessing in a long list of things to be thankful for with this whole ordeal.

Joy - I wondered if anyone had filled you in...it was a long hard crawl for the man, and yes, the phone is up high. It was a big huge ordeal, lemme tell ya.
