I love it when ya call me Big Poppa...

It's the Harry's birthday today! Hurrah! Happy Birthday, Dad - not that he reads this blog...but at least I know I put it out there in the blogosphere. We're going over there for Gel's pizza after work. It's one of my favoritest pizzas ever. With a nice big salad and some breadsticks...I'll be looking forward to this all day. mmmmmmmm pizza...

So raise a glass, a cup of coffee, a breakfast shake or an egg mcmuffin in the general direction of Jackson Twp. this morning and wish my dad a happy birthday. Between my sister and I, we should have put him into massive coronary by now, but he's still kickin', still has his own hair and none of it's gray, despite the opinions of people back east who insist he's wearing a rug.

Doctor for me today - I'm underwhelmed. I would like to think I'm going to go there and he's going to look at all these films and say "Mrs. Crum...my heavens...you clearly have a distorted schmokken-flokken...we need to do x, y and z right away and you will never have shoulder pain again."

HA! Yeah right.

I'm already prepped for him to see nothing, know nothing and provide me no answers or solutions. I guess I just have to hope that whatever pharmaceutical rep brought him donuts this morning also brought some samples of some miracle drug. Wouldn't that be nice?

Happy Birthday, Harry!! I raise my coffee mug to the north, yell out my window, and tell you how jealous I am that you're retired and younger than me!

Hope all goes well at the doc's.

Funny Memory? I don't think so Sister Hazel. Maybe for you. You know, I can't figure out why I continued to go over there with Julie....

On another note, I do like that song by Big E...

Oh Jimmer - the man wasn't seriously going to put you in his trunk...if he was he wouldn't have told you first. That's just the way he rolls.

Umm, George's G Spot? Seriously? Where is this place? Now I MUST go.

It's George's Gyro Spot. It's on Calumet in the old, old, old Dairy Isle building. Between the tracks and The Port. They have great Italian Beef and damn good Gyro's (as they should.)

How about the Polish with the Italian Beef on top of it. I think they call it a COMBO. It's huge, but good.

As far as your Dad goes, this was way back and he was very convincing. He's a different man today.

George's - The original is in Hobart!

I had no idea there was another G SPOT. I thought it was just another attraction that drew people to Chesterton. Maybe it will get Kathy to come BACK to Chesterton.... and if she does it will only be her 2nd time...yes, i said, SECOND TIME, in Chesterton.
If not the G spot, maybe the largest ART show which takes place this weekend, or the DUNES, or Baiely Homestead, or the Watershed, or Dairy Queen (oh, yeah, they have that in Valpo), or the beaches (not to be confused with the Dunes.... when I say "DUNES" I mean hiking, camping, picnicing, and so forth in the dunes.) or all those metal homes that are official HISTORICAL PLACES, and much much more. Come back Kathy. Will you?

Seriously? The Port? I guess french fried clams are hard to come by. HA!

And just so you all know - I passed along your birthday wishes to the man...and when I told him about your perm comment, Jul - he said "Which perm, I did it a couple of times" and I said "any of them, Dad, they all looked bad" and he said "I looked great with my perms" and laughed to himself...

Good ole' Dad.
